Return to the AIA to watch the Iron Melt and take home your art!
The Iron Melt will be in-person once again! Purchase your mold now so you don’t miss out. Mark your calendar for October 21st October 28th, postponed due to rain, so you can see the pour in person.
The official sale dates (pick up and drop off), staffed by experienced Iron Melt Volunteers, are 10am – 2pm Thursdays and Saturdays: September 28th/30th; October 5th/7th, 12th/14th and 19th. Additional dates Saturday 10/21, Thursday 10/26. If you are an Iron Melt veteran and don’t need mold carving instruction, pick up your purchased mold at the Welcome Center during open hours on Tuesdays or Thursdays 11am to 4pm starting August 22nd.
The mold pickup and drop off location is at the AIA Welcome Center (formerly the Big Bear Lodge), 106 Route 13, Brookline, NH.
The Iron Pour is estimated for noon; however, molten iron can be finicky. Please be patient. Once poured, the casts need to be cooled, cleaned and have rough edges removed. This is a good time to explore the trails! Then, return to the Studio to claim your unique work of iron art.
The cost for the Iron Melt is $45 for non-members and $35 for members.
