The Gallery at Andres Institute of Art will host shows six times each year, featuring visiting and regional artists in a variety of media and styles.

The Gallery anteroom features works spanning the career of John Weidman, AIA co-founder, Art Director and Master Sculptor.

An intent of the Gallery, as with the AIA Sculpture Park, is to connect the public with art. The Gallery extends an invitation to view the art and provides several opportunities to meet the artists. There are seating areas to pause with the art before or after a hike, before a concert or anytime you are in the area and we are open.

Gallery at Andres Institute of Art show with Chris Volpe, shown is painting of ethereal Queen Anne's lace against black background Title Earth Song

Earth-Song

These works, created by mixing oil paint with tar and ash, inhabit a space between connection and separation from the natural world, exploring themes of wholeness and decay.

As a material, tar functions both as an industrial signifier and as an alchemical base substance. Earth-Song seeks to hold the beauty and connection we experience in nature alongside the more difficult truths of the moment in which we live.      Christopher Volpe
