This beginner-friendly class will introduce you to the fundamentals of linocutting and block printing using bold, classic black ink. You’ll learn how to safely handle carving tools, transfer a design onto linoleum, carve your image step by step, and ink and press your block to pull your own hand-printed piece. By the end of class, you’ll walk away with your own carved block and a set of original prints.
All materials will be provided. Wear clothing that may see some stay ink.
There is an Intermediate class offered on 9/13.
